Lexington Housing Partnership: Building a Diverse, Vibrant Lexington <br />5. Updates on the Busa and Fairview Projects <br />The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) approved the Local Initiative Program (LIP) <br />on Fairview. LexHab is going to the Zoning Board of Appeal in August for approval of the housing plan for <br />Fairview. If any LHP members are available, please go to the meeting and support LexHab. <br />LexHab is making an agreement with MetroWest so that LexHab will pay MetroWest to make the application <br />to DHCD for the Busa property. <br />LexHab will present on Monday night to the Board of Selectmen on the status of the Busa and Fairview <br />projects. This will be a review of progress to date and the schedule for future development. <br />6. Update on BoS Goal Setting meeting <br />Mr. Pato provided an update on the Board of Selectmen goal setting process. There 43 goals. Housing was <br />discussed and ranked a priority 1 activity. Discussion was focused on Vision2020 assessment. In the last <br />survey (approximately a year ago), there were a 1,000 respondents. Based on the responses to the survey, <br />the community believes that while diversity is important Lexington does not perform well on housing <br />diversity. Mr. Pato and and Michelle Ciccolo will work with staff to determine how Lexington might deliver <br />on the goal of increasing diversity. <br />7. Update on the Leary Housing Project <br />LexHab is putting Leary on the backburner in favor of Busa and Fairview. <br />8. LHP Chair and Vice Chair Positions <br />Betsey Weiss requested that the LHP members consider whether they might interested in holding an officer <br />position. <br />9. New Business <br />There was a request to add an agenda item for discussion about another community forum and, more <br />generally, about raising awareness in Lexington as to the needs of affordable and diverse housing. Jeri <br />10. Next Meeting <br />There will be no LHP meetings this summer. The next meeting will be on September 18. <br />11. Adjournment <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:21 pm. <br />
