<br />Greenways Corridor Committee <br />March 24, 2014 <br />Legion Room, Cary Hall <br />Lexington, Massachusetts <br />Members Present: Alex Dohan, Peggy Enders, Eileen Entin, Bob Hausslein, <br />Aaron Ladd, Keith Ohmart, Mike Tabaczynski <br />Other Attendees: Stew Kennedy, Conservation Commission liaison <br />Votes: <br /> February 24, 2014, minutes: Approved <br />Reports: <br />Property owner trail easement protocol - All contacts and negotiations will go <br />through Karen Mullins, Town Conservation Administrator. A meeting has been <br />set up with the conservation administrator in Arlington for Keith, Mike, Rick & <br />Karen to discuss ACROSS signage on Arlington property. <br />Funding update - The GCC has an additional $10,000 coming over the next 2 <br />years from the Community Preservation Act funds. The Community Preservation <br />Committee can hold what we don't spend immediately. These funds are for FY <br />2014 and 2015. <br />Pedestrian traffic signal at Bedford St, Hartwell Ave - This improved crossing is in <br />the plans, but there is no timetable yet. We will keep our ears open. <br />Mapping files - Mike has the maps from Emily Schadler and will be working on <br />them. <br />May 17 Greenbelt walk - Rick is the coordinator for the Middlesex Fells-to- <br />Riverside segment. This will include Lower Vine Brook down to Lot 1 in Lexington, <br />and the Waltham Land Trust is also involved. <br />Current Business: <br />Present Route C schedule - Mike will talk w/ Karen and will work with her and <br />Town of Arlington, Friends of the Arlington Great Meadows and other appropriate <br />stakeholders. Hope to finalize Route C by May GCC meeting. <br />Mike put up a map projection. <br />There were many points of discussion: <br />Rte C plan - make 2 smaller loops? <br />Whipple hill summit <br />Russell - Whipple - Locke - Fairlawn, best route at present? <br />Locke Lane access to be built - eventually want to eliminate Whipple Rd - to be <br />discussed with Conservation Department <br />Fairlawn, Lowell intersection has crosswalk <br /> <br />
