BOA Meeting December 12, 2013 11 Minutes of the Lexington Zoning Board of Appeals Selectmen’s Meeting Room December 12, 2013 Board Members Present: Acting on the petition was Chairwoman – Martha C. Wood, Jeanne K. Krieger, Edward D. McCarthy, Leo P. McSweeney and David G. Williams Staff Present: Dianne Cornaro, Administrative Clerk and David George, Zoning Administrator Address: 6 Watertown Street, Map 39, Lot 37B The petitioner submitted the following information with the applications: nature and justification of request; a plot plan; topographic plan, elevations, floor plans, Letter of support from Sijo Cherian of 4 Watertown Street, letter dated November 22, 2013 responding to the Zoning Administrator’s e-mail requesting additional information. Prior to the hearing, the petitions and supporting data were reviewed by the Acting Building Commissioner, Conservation Administrator, Town Engineer, Board of Selectmen, the Zoning Administrator, the Planning Director, the Economic Development Administrator and the Historic Districts Commission Clerk. Comments were received from the Conservation Administrator and the Zoning Administrator. The Chairman opened the hearing at 10:07 pm by reading the legal notices and described information received from the petitioner. The petitioner is requesting a Special Permit in accordance with the Zoning By-Law section 135-8.4.2 and 135-9.4.2 to allow modification of a non conforming structure. Ephrain Weisstein, owner of the property presented the petition with his contractor, Agui Desouza of Boston Remodeling. Mr. Weisstein proposes to add an 18 ft. by 18.7 ft. carport onto the existing new addition. The proposed structure would be located 6.2 ft. from the left side lot line instead of the required 15 ft. There were questions from the Board regarding the placement and size of the addition that has already been added; clarification of setbacks needed; and the size of the driveway. There were no questions from the audience. No one spoke in favor or in opposition to the petition. The Chairwoman closed the hearing at 10:20 pm.
