<br />Greenways Corridor Committee <br />February 24, 2014 <br />Legion Room, Cary Hall <br />Lexington, Massachusetts <br />Members Present: Rick Abrams, Alex Dohan, Eileen Entin, Bob Hausslein, Keith <br />Ohmart, Mike Tabaczynski, <br />Other Attendees: Stew Kennedy, Conservation Commission liaison <br />Votesapproved <br />: January 27, 2014, meeting Minutes - <br />Motion for GCC to back Rick’s Community Endowment of Lexington proposal - <br />approved <br />• ACROSS Lexington Trust Fund update: An honorarium as approved by the trust fund <br />trustees will be given to David Neal, the app designer, and another honorarium for the <br />map designer <br />• Spring walks: on Routes A, B, and maybe C <br /> Rick is working with the Recreation Department on 4 walks - not necessarily <br />ACROSS routes, but may incorporate them <br /> Can do other walks with CLC, specifically for ACROSS - to be arranged <br /> There will also be walks during Bike Walk Bus Week in May <br />• Boston Greenbelt Walk: 30 miles - Greenroutes, Liveable Streets, Free Walkers, <br />Metropolitan Area Planning Council are all working together to arrange this walk. <br />May 17, 2014 <br /> Ring walk around Boston, from Malden to Riverside, , through <br />Lexington center. The Waltham Land Trust and other local organizations will be <br />involved with the Lexington area arrangements. The website is: BostonGreenbelt30 <br />• Town Trails Signage: Conservation Stewards now have backing from the Conservation <br />Commission for developing and installing signage on Town properties trails. <br />• Updating ACROSS map: Mike has not heard back from Emily re mapping, hopefully in <br />a week or two. <br />• Community Endowment of Lexington has grant funding opportunity thatRick would <br />like to access to help develop app by David Neal for ACROSS Lexington. Several groups <br />together could apply for the funding as CEL likes collaborative projects. Some ideas are: <br />Historical Society, Citizens for Lexington Conservation, Bikeway Committee. There is <br />a March 15 deadline, so proposal will need to be done asap. <br />• Route C: Keith got out before the snow, presented a new suggested route. It is longer, <br />but uses crosswalks and gets users into Arlington Great Meadow. Discussion yielded <br />some alterations, but a general consensus was reached. <br /> <br />
