She also summarized the plans for flooring materials to be used. Ms. Wilson provided some historical maps to illustrate when and where houses had existed prior to 1905, when the mansion was built. The building was designed as a colonial revival and incorporates traditional elements or that style. 4.Staff and Liaison Reports: Mr. Goddard reported that he and the SBA consultants are meeting in the evening with the Energy Committee regarding the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system in the Community Center. Ms. Rodgers reviewed a handout that demonstrates the demand for fitness and meal programs at the Senior Center. She noted that participation in the fitness programs has increased considerably. There has been a decrease in those who come to the center for “congregate” meals, excluding special lunches, lunches with lectures, and meals on wheels. The number of seniors in the Town continues to increase. Ms. Rodgers and Ms. Butts discussed the costs involved in bulk mailings. The Senior Center mails out its newsletter to every senior who is 65 years or more; this costs approximately $12,000 per year. In Fiscal Year 2013, the Recreation Department mailed its program brochure to Lexington’s approximately 12,000 households, which cost over $17,000. Methods to reduce these costs, including electronic mailings, are being explored. 5.Adjourn: Ms. Rodgers offered to give a tour of the Senior Center.
