t�VS MOght <br />o� 1775 <br />ti O� <br />., APRIL I9' <br />Letter to Selectmen re Town Center Traffic Plan: Peggy will write a letter to the Selectmen restating <br />our recommendation that the solution to Mass Ave in the town center results in its being an active, <br />complete street — that is, accommodating to and safe for cyclists and pedestrians. <br />Liaison Reports: Richard Canale reported the following: The Planning Board had their picture for the <br />annual report taken at the Parklet. The Planning Board wrote a letter to our legislators supporting an <br />Active Streets program. If Lexington adopts such a program, the Town could qualify for designated <br />funding. Bike lanes have been painted on Hayden and Hartwell Avenues. Shade Street has new fog <br />lines, no center line, and sharrows. He spoke about the importance of maintaining bike accommodations <br />in the future, since all of the improvements will need sand removed and overhanging limbs trimmed. <br />There have been complaints about the status of the bike lane on Hartwell Avenue in terms of brush and <br />overhanging limbs. Richard also mentioned that a MOI is being written to form group to manage the <br />Battle Road Scenic by -way involving the towns of Arlington, Lexington, Lincoln and Concord. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm. <br />Record of the Discussions of Friends of Lexington Bikeways <br />Treasurer's Report: Our only expense during August was purchase of coupons for the Farmers' Market. <br />Farmers' Market Bike Corral was cancelled due to rain on Tuesday, Sept. 10 The next corral will be <br />on October 8th <br />Garfield Street Access Project (status): The Eagle Scout is currently raising funds for this project. <br />Members voted to contribute $50 to the costs of the project. <br />Fund - Raising for 2013 -14 Snow Plowing: It was agreed that fund - raising would begin in early <br />November. <br />Upcoming Dates <br />• LBAC /FoLB meeting Thursday, October 10, at 7 PM, Room G15, Town Office Building. <br />• Bikeway Counts: Thursday, September 12, and Saturday, September 14 <br />• Quarterly Transportation Forum: Tuesday, October 8.
