SITE COUNCIL 5/24/13 <br />ATTENDANCE: Lynnette Allen, Nimisha Asthagiri, Kristin Baranofsky, Angela <br />Chang, Meg Collela, Betsy Conway, Susan Orenstein, Naomi Priver, Deidre <br />Schadler, Debbi Side <br />RENOVATIONS <br />• TLT has fired workers and has whole new team <br />• did lose some time over this <br />• goal to finish the classrooms first (so ready for school); 2nd library and caf; 3rd gym <br />• have contingency plans <br />• section 1 supposed to be done in July <br />• have drop -dead dates <br />• because contingency $ put in, talking with Permanent Building Committee to use it -- <br />could put front entryway in, library floor (likely next summer) <br />• project initially slated to be done OCt 1 (two new classrooms over boiler) <br />• pushed floors off main hallway floors until next summer (has 3 week abatement so <br />would run into school year) <br />• after - school hours through October, but can put in specific days for one -off events, <br />seems that after - school programs ie YES will be elsewhere until construction people <br />gone <br />next year artist -in- residence through LEF grant will make mural on cafeteria wall with all <br />the kids <br />brick walkway from 5th grade door to front door in place of grass as fund raiser (kids run <br />on the grass and it dies); as a patio -type area <br />PARKING ISSUE <br />• Consultant coming in to Bridge first <br />• fence at edge of parking in back to prevent people from driving into play area <br />• talk of buses to drop off /pickup in front, parents to loop around from side and back <br />• talk of adding parking, issue along field is wetlands so cannot do there, ?adding more <br />spots in the front <br />• talk of changing traffic on roadway for certain times of the day <br />• not just Bridge having traffic issues, but we are #1 on the list to fix <br />• Old Res work is 2 mos behind, do parking still not ready <br />Next year's meeting schedule to follow.... <br />
