28 <br />CARY LIBRARY. <br />The Trustees of Cary Library report,that the number of <br />bound volumes in the Library January 31, 1875, was 4197. <br />Of these 597 were added during the past year, 433 by pur- <br />chase, and 164 by donation. The navies of the donors aro : <br />Hon. Charles Hudson, 97 vols. ; American Unitarian Asso-• <br />elation, 26 vols. ; Smithsonian Institute, 21 vols. ; Rev. E. <br />0-. Porter, 15 vols.; J. L. Parker, Esq., Woburn, 1 <br />vol. ; L. F essenden, Esq., Fitchburg, 1 vol. ; Rev. E. S. <br />Elder, 1 vol. ; Rev. H. %Vesteott, 2 vols. The number of <br />volumes taken from the Library during the past year, was <br />15,056, making the circulation' about 25 per cent. greater <br />than that of the previous year. At the annual examination, <br />the Library was found in good condition, with no -books lost. <br />As a new catalogue is necessary for the convenience of those <br />using the Library, one has been prepared, and will be ready <br />for distribution probably by March 1. .
