John Frey and Jim Wood provided their findings and recommendations from a site
review on March 12, 2013. The information presented here is not exhaustive, but
provides major areas that need to be addressed or actions to be implemented:
a. A surveyors drawing showing the existing trees on the site complying with the
town by -law regarding size, shall be developed.
b. Cumberland Farms shall hire a certified arborist to design a tree retention, upper
story pruning plan for the existing trees, and for the entire site but with emphasis on the
adjacent homeowners property, and the business to the South. A lower story planting
plan, and identification of trees to be planted along the entire length of the new, proposed
10 foot high fence, shall have trees of at least 10 feet in height and be of a species that
will thrive in the resulting conditions. These conditions are defined primarily by the over
story trees and the 10 foot high fence.
C. Maintenance Plan -The certified arborist shall develop a maintenance plan for the
trees /shrubs planned for the site, which will be implemented on a yearly basis for the first
5 years and afterward sufficient to maintain the site trees /shrubs in good appearance and
condition.
Respectfully submitted,
Jim Wood
