<br /> <br /> <br />There is still time to correct several errors about the breakfast that were printed in the <br /> <br />Colonial Times. <br /> <br />Lee Cummings will help us find a speaker for the morning. <br /> <br /> <br />Veterans’ Day 2012 Update <br /> <br />Approval. Selectmen approved the parade. <br /> <br /> <br />Essay contest. We have no entries to date. Contest announcement was not published <br /> <br />in the most recent edition of the Colonial Times. Ryan Lennon and Gresh Lattimore will <br />judge the essays. Barbara Manfredi was invited to be the third judge. <br /> <br />Chief Marshal. Aidan Evelyn accepted our invitation to be chief marshal. <br /> <br /> <br />Patriots’ Day 2013 Update <br /> <br />We have received five parade applications. Additional participants may include the <br /> <br />Philadelphia Mummers and Oscar Mayer wiener mobile. <br /> <br />A prominent out-of-state group has expressed interest in participating. A commitment <br /> <br />should be available by Thanksgiving. <br /> <br />Logistical concerns regarding transportation, parking, crowds, etc. for the day need to <br /> <br />be planned for early on. Suzie will begin to organize soon. <br /> <br />Sandy nominated all Tricon Hat recipients for chief marshal. Committee discussed <br /> <br />options for bringing the group down the avenue. <br /> <br />Members decided that it would be worthwhile for Lexington to repair and store here <br /> <br />the afternoon parade reviewing stands. Waltham’s Recreation Director, Sandy <br />Tomasello, will check with the proper channels to see if our proposal is acceptable. <br /> <br />Sam Williams, builder of the new podium, will donate his remaining funds toward the <br /> <br />purchase of five new service flags which will be kept in the Veterans’ Service Office. <br /> <br />Town Celebrations Committee will assume fund-raising responsibilities for the parade <br /> <br />from the Chamber of Commerce. There are solicitation guidelines that must be <br />followed. The money will be placed in the Selectmen’s gift account and used for the <br />parade, and any money currently available from past fund-raising efforts will be <br />transferred to this account.
