The conservation commission told the GCC that the conservation commission
will choose the marking system for the conservation trails sometime in the future.
When the Conservation Commission decides to choose a color for connector
arrows, the GCC will recommend that they not use a blue arrow on a white
background since it will cause confusion. There are many other color choices
available. Wellesley uses 6 different colors on their trail system
3. We discussed the plans to get the pilot route installed by October 15. We
concluded that we could get the posts ordered and installed independent of the
other signage. We also decided to get the logo signs ordered as soon as we
could. The posts and signs could be installed as soon as they arrived. The final
choice of the directional arrow would be decided at the September 24 full GCC
meeting and, assuming a decision was reached, could be ordered just after the
meeting. If the directional arrows could be ordered on September 25, the would
arrive in Lexington by October 10th, giving us a few days to install them to make
the October 15 goal.
