<br />Lexington Arts Council (LAC) Meeting <br />Minutes for November 6, 2006 <br /> <br />Present: Barbara Ciampa, Jackie Hawkinson, Bill Janovitz, Janet Post, Mary Trometer <br />Guest: Jonathan Cue <br /> <br />President Barbara Ciampa called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />LAC Membership: <br /> Bill Janovitz introduced Jonathan Cue who is interested in becoming a <br />member of the Council. Jackie Hawkinson will complete the LCC on-line training, thus <br />fulfilling the membership requirements. Barbara read a letter from Allan Adolph and noted that <br />the Selectmen have accepted his resignation due to expiration of his term. <br /> <br />Recruitment for the LAC continues. Barbara will ask Alice Fernandez, a representative of the <br />Cambridge Craft Course. Janet will follow up on a possible member who she learned about at <br />the Haverhill meeting. <br /> <br />Minutes of October 2: <br /> The Secretary’s Minutes of October 1, 2006 were accepted. <br /> <br />Treasurer’s Report: <br /> Mary Trometer distributed the Treasurer’s Report. She obtained <br />documentation from Barbara Manfredi, principal of Bridge School, which supported last year’s <br />list of awards to Bridge. Mary noted that $4,405.86 is available for dispersal this year, including <br />funds unassigned last year. The Treasurer’s Report was accepted. <br /> <br />Haverhill MCC/LCC Get-Together: <br />Janet distributed her notes from this event (attached <br />hereto). <br /> <br />Selectmen’s Seminar: <br /> Janet and Jackie attended the Selectmen’s Seminar on Ethics and <br />Conflict of Interest on October 21, 2006. Janet’s notes are attached hereto. <br /> <br />Three Apples: <br /> Barbara attended the Three Apples Story-Telling Fair at Cary Library and noted <br />that they failed to recognize LAC’s support which they received last year. Jackie will follow up <br />on this. <br /> <br />Patrons Fund: <br /> Bill recommended that the Patrons Fund be put on hold for the time being. He <br />recommended that we need to set goals for the Patrons Fund. <br /> <br />LCC Grant Applications: <br /> Barbara distributed the completed grant applications. The school <br />PASS applications were discussed first. <br /> <br />1. It appears that the Fiske School art teacher, Nick Hart, withdrew his application over the <br />phone, due to confusion about funding for BSO open rehearsal tickets. Barbara noted that the <br />applicant is a new teacher and will attempt to clarify the proposal with him. <br /> <br /> <br />
