PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
MEETING OF OCTOBER 4, 2008

A meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was held concurrently with the public presentation of the
Economic Development Task Force report by the 2020 Vision Committee. Planning Board members
Charles Hornig, Wendy Manz, Greg Zurlo and Richard Canale and planning staff McCall-Taylor were
present.

Ms. Mollie Garberg presented an overview of the report of the Economic Development Task Force
(EDTF) and their recommendations.

Mr. Hornig gave a summary of the work of the Planning Board looking at the Hartwell Avenue Area in
anticipation of bringing proposals for increased commercial development to the 2009 Town Meeting.

Mr. Zurlo facilitated the breakout group discussion. Five breakout groups were tasked with looking at
three scenarios of possible levels of development on Hartwell Avenue and providing input on what would
be the preferred scenario. At the end of the group discussions people were asked to place a dot on a line
showing FAR ranging from 0.15 to 0.9 and report on the groups discussion that influenced their
decisions.

The group reconvened as whole for a brief wrap-up and to receive the thanks of the EDTF for coming out
on a Saturday morning.

The meeting adjourned at 12:15 p.m.

Wendy Manz, Clerk
