Meeting Minutes <br />Community Center Task Force <br />Meeting August 27, 2012 <br />Date: <br />Meeting Time / 7:30pm <br />Location Room G -15 Town Hall <br />Members in Laura Hussong, Chair <br />Attendance: Jim Goell, Vice Chair <br />Betty Borghesani, <br />Tim Dugan, Sophia <br />Ho, Florence Koplow <br />Absent: Lisah Rhodes <br />Liaisons in <br />Attendance: <br />Guest: <br />Chris Ammer, Cary <br />Library <br />Nancy Adler, COA <br />Jane Trudeau, FCOA <br />The minutes of April 24, 2012, May 3, 2012 and May 29, 2012 were unanimously accepted and <br />approved. <br />Ad Hoc Townwide Facilities Master Planning Committee, created by Board of <br />Selectmen <br />The committee members are: Bill Kennedy, Chair; George Burnell; John Carroll; Peter Kelley; Jeanne <br />Krieger; Richard Pagett; Jesse Steigerwald. <br />Liaisons are: David Kantor, Capital Expenditures; Al Levine, Appropriations; Joe Pato; Mark Corr; Louisa <br />Lipsett; Pat Goddard; Laura Hussong and Jim Goell will share the liaison position from the CCTF. <br />33 Marrett Road <br />This purchase will not affect the report and our conclusions. <br />Survey Data <br />Jim Goell has prepared a graphic summary of the responses to the question, "Would a Community <br />Center Be A Benefit To The Town "? His graphs are attached hereto. In general, 85% to 90% of the <br />responses were positive. <br />Report To The Selectmen. <br />Jim and Laura will prepare a preliminary draft for the rest of the Committee members to work on. It was <br />agreed that because of the possibility of the Town purchasing the Mason owned property on 33 Marrett <br />Road, time is of the essence. It was decided to make our presentation to the Selectmen no later than <br />the end of October. In using the data from other Towns it was decided that in our summary we would <br />focus on best practices not statistics although data would be provided in the written report. Our next <br />meeting will be either on Tuesday, September 4 th at 7:30 or Friday, September 7 th from 4Pm to 71 <br />Laura will send out a notice. <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:25pm. <br />
