Meeting Minutes Community Center Task Force Meeting August 27, 2012 Date: Meeting Time / 7:30pm Location Room G -15 Town Hall Members in Laura Hussong, Chair Attendance: Jim Goell, Vice Chair Betty Borghesani, Tim Dugan, Sophia Ho, Florence Koplow Absent: Lisah Rhodes Liaisons in Attendance: Guest: Chris Ammer, Cary Library Nancy Adler, COA Jane Trudeau, FCOA The minutes of April 24, 2012, May 3, 2012 and May 29, 2012 were unanimously accepted and approved. Ad Hoc Townwide Facilities Master Planning Committee, created by Board of Selectmen The committee members are: Bill Kennedy, Chair; George Burnell; John Carroll; Peter Kelley; Jeanne Krieger; Richard Pagett; Jesse Steigerwald. Liaisons are: David Kantor, Capital Expenditures; Al Levine, Appropriations; Joe Pato; Mark Corr; Louisa Lipsett; Pat Goddard; Laura Hussong and Jim Goell will share the liaison position from the CCTF. 33 Marrett Road This purchase will not affect the report and our conclusions. Survey Data Jim Goell has prepared a graphic summary of the responses to the question, "Would a Community Center Be A Benefit To The Town "? His graphs are attached hereto. In general, 85% to 90% of the responses were positive. Report To The Selectmen. Jim and Laura will prepare a preliminary draft for the rest of the Committee members to work on. It was agreed that because of the possibility of the Town purchasing the Mason owned property on 33 Marrett Road, time is of the essence. It was decided to make our presentation to the Selectmen no later than the end of October. In using the data from other Towns it was decided that in our summary we would focus on best practices not statistics although data would be provided in the written report. Our next meeting will be either on Tuesday, September 4 th at 7:30 or Friday, September 7 th from 4Pm to 71 Laura will send out a notice. The meeting adjourned at 9:25pm.
