It was suggested <br />that VistaPrint be approached to donate printing costs. <br />The Minuteman Bikeway is so extremely crowded, especially on weekends that we <br />are concerned about the safety of all users. Two suggestions surfaced: larger <br />signs and using the electronic sign board. We need to devote a large block of time <br />to this issue at a future meeting. <br />Other business: Root barrier work will be done on the Bikeway in late summer. <br />The Historical Society got approval from the HDC for the two bike racks, one at <br />the Hancock Clarke House and the other at the Munroe Tavern. The racks were a <br />gift to the Historical Society from the Friends of Lexington Bikeways. A Boy Scout <br />will install them this summer. <br />Richard Canale reported on the hearing for the Route 2A bridge replacement. <br />The current cloverleaf design does not meet current standards. Many spoke in <br />favor of a new design including two roundabouts, which would accommodate <br />pedestrians and cyclists. <br />Peggy distributed the Bay State Greenway priority list. The Reformatory Branch <br />Trail is #5 on the list. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm. <br />Record of the Discussion of the Friends of Lexington Bikeways: <br />The treasurer's report was given. George will review the records as required for <br />non - profits. <br />The MassBike Ride is July 28, starting from Lexington High School. Laurel is in <br />touch with them about the Family Ride. <br />Farmers' Market Bike Corrals: The next corral is on August 7; volunteers will <br />record which patrons are first time users of bike parking. <br />Lexington's 300 Anniversary: Organizers of the 300 inquired as to whether <br />we plan to participate on Sept. 22 At this point we need more information. <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:55. <br />The next LBAC /FoLB meeting is on Thursday, August 9, 7 PM, Room 111, TOB. <br />Recorder: Marita Hartshorn <br />Editor: Peggy Enders <br />
